it's such a shame a powerful application like vfp has nearly been sidelined by ms. they must have been comparing the vfp licenses with that of ms office that has access. they should have been comparing
the nt and win95 licenses, such demand created by vfp developers in the client side. the equation is like :

ms office + access < less than < nt + win95 + msoffice + vfp *.exe

for short-term marketing people, it seems to make sense to propagate access because it relies on other programs. which is sad and false.

other than that, i hope the generation of foxpro developers will keep on. it seems to make sense if there will come a database-OS, rather than OS (windows, nt, unix, java, tcl/tck) & a potpurri of programs it has to handle. 'information builds the system' rather than 'system keeping up with the information'. like having taskstation mode run only vfp apps :

{from zak of ms}
For example, if your line-of-business application is stored in the Database folder and is called CustomerDatabase.exe, type c:\database\customerdatabase.exe
-----------------------------------------------------------
Note By default, the TaskStation shell is configured as Internet Explorer on drive C.
