What it is called does not necessarily define what it actually is. As for motivation to buy the product, an OLE-DB Provider would not do that. The only two compelling "features" of the product that makes VFP 7 compelling IMO is the IntelliSense and the COM + support. I don't include web services here because 1: it is not a feature of the product and 2: it can be done in 6. The features I outline here can only be done with 7.

As for making a "big deal" out of something, I don't think I have done that..

Actually, I don't think you have - especially if you are laser-beaming on my comments regarding whether the OLE-DB Provider should be given away. That was only a small part of the issue. While it is my opinion that the VFP OLE DB Provider should be distributed like any other MS OLE-DB Provider - I respect MS's right to distribute it in whatever manner it wishes to. The main issue is the characterization of why the provider is not being distributed like any other MS OLE-DB Provider.

I think we are done here..
