I forgot to mention an important limitation of Perforce. It doesn't work with only Windows 95, etc.; you need to install the Perforce Server on a Windows NT Server (or some other alternatives, like Linux or Unix).
If this doesn't work for you, you can probably get other freeware version-control / source control at
www.download.com.
