Hi,

The following message appear on the VFUG Forum From Dave Crozier:

"I'm Having problems with a VFP7 application which has run for 5 years under VFP5/6 without any problems on an NT4 network with 40 95/98 clients. When loading the program I keep getting random C0000005 @ 19/12/2001 03:49:28 PM. Error log file:
C:\[RPGRA, FO;ES\CP,,PM FO;ES\MICROSOFT SHARED\VFP\VFP7err.log
Called from - form1.init line 0 { }
Called from -Ojo10bnjg line 0 { main.mpx}
Called from - ON... line 0 { }
Called drom - sys_main line 0 { s:\flexipol7.exe}

The error seems to be randomly generated and occurrs before any oerator entry.
Anyone got any ideas?

Also, the same application under VFP7 seens to send network stations off line randomly and generates an "ERROR READING FILE" error whenever a network read is attempted. The network neighbourhood is then disabled until the VFP7 application is ended, then network neighbourthood comes back>>>UUGGGH. This did happen in VFjP3 days but was fixed with SP1, and has never re-ocurred in VFP5 and VFP6.

ANY help would be appreciated, or its back to VFP5/6
Dave Crozier"

I'm having the same problem. Window NT 4.0 worksation clients randomly loss their connection, then a series of table and table.variables not found errors. Network neighbourhood is lost until the client ctrl-alt-del to end VFP7 task and restarts the program. I originally suspected a network problems until I saw Dave's VFUG post. Now I'm not sure but suspect it could be a VFP7 issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I use a database container and set all table up in work areas when the program begins. On my forms I use the standard wizstyle table button class for navigation and optimistic buffering 5. Since this provide a begin transaction, no database curruption has occurred and all incompleted transaction are rolled back when the client crashes so there is no mess to figure out. Is this a VFP7 issue and if so will it be fixed in SP1?
