*I* researched it. Had to; the class has my good name on it :-)

In my tests, it was about 40% faster. Fabio says that it's much, much faster under certain conditions but I know for a fact it's 40% faster on average.

Fabio had a brilliant idea for 1.50 to ameliorate the cross-process speed issues; it involves preformatting the data on one document and then moving everything en masse to another. Simply brilliant.
