i am currently implementing a function in VB.NET and using SQL server 2000. i've been asked by my supervisor that to take out the statements that either connects to the database, handles SQL statements or executes the results and puts them into components.

i understand from my previous knowledge of VB that component is used for storing and handling logic that associate with database. but now, for VB.NET, how is this different from VB6 and how is this to be done in VB.NET?

could anyone refer me to any samples or examples in such areas?
