Yeah, I tried to try :) the live-eval, but for some reason I can't get it to work on my home computer. The install simply stops near the end, while writing the configuration. The same CD works on another computer, so the CD images looks good to me.
I don't think I have any fancy hardware, but my guess would be that it bugs either with my Voodoo I (old, I know, but that's the best I've got to play games on my PII - 266), my ISA Sound Blaster AWE64 Value (Mandrake 8.1 seems to have a problem with ISA PnP boards, MD 8.0 works fine, though) or that there are ReiserFS partitions (from what I read, Live-Eval doesn't support ReiserFS, but the first partition is FAT32, and Live-Eval writes it's files there without problem).
And lately, I didn't feel like playing inside my computer, throwing boards through the window (pun not intended) to see what the problem is.
I also thought about doing an FTP install (I copied the folders from the FTP into a closer computer), but the RealTek 8029 isn't supported (the 8139 is, though).
So until I find some more patience, I'm running Mandrake 8.0. Still better than that Evil-Corporation's OS! :)
