I run items on a client side using Kix logon scripts (such as installing software and doing registry hacks). My question to you is WHEN do you want this to happen and WHY. If it is just something simple and you don't mind when it happens you can use a logon script and have it run then (or use the registry to have it occur every logon). If you need it to happen in response to something then I would think you have to use a more programmatic approach such as what arriem mentioned.
