Interesting, what this thread appeared today. Today power outrage happened at our work. All computers and phones were shut down. We have interruptible power supply, but our NetWork administrator was on vacation, and IT manager didn't know, how can he shut down the server properly, none of the monitors was working (or he can not find it). I'm afraid, it could be a serious problem. We'll see tomorrow, if it would be fixed then.

All employees went home, because there was nothing to do without computer...

>>Dear All,
>> After power failure, when my restaurant program is started again ALL data in the previous session are lost. Is there any way to save data automatically in a fixed time to avoid loss of all data?

>All my systems include an interruptible power supply for this very reason. People are trained in shutdown procedures in order to avoid the backup batteries from being depleted. It's the only way to insure no data is lost. When the power goes off, not only is data lost, but tables can become corrupted and unusable.

>I know this is not much help. All you can do beyond this is be sure that info is written to disk as often as possible but if the table becomes damaged, you may lose it anyway.

If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
