You want an XML file laying around for every grid in your app? I have a suggestion, if you wanna hear it.

Create a table called "controlprefs" or something like that, which has a "controlname" field and an "xml" field which is a memo. Whenever you need the prefs, just look for the control in that table and use the memo field as teh XML file.

That would probably make your project easier to handle and you can keep all your XML logic.
