I found the problem...
In the Activate event of page1 that houses page(a) and page(b),
I had this code...

if mytable.myfld=.t.
thisform.pageframe1.page2.pageframe1.activepage=1
else
thisform.pageframe1.page2.pageframe1.activepage=2
endif

I guess this means that children page tabs fire off their parents
events..
