>Just to be sure I understand exactly the behavior of the mouse wheel, I believe we earlier discussed that it was causing that behavior because of the onChange() event, right? Which means, if there wouldn't be an onChange() event in the Time warp listbox, combined with a mecanism to fire the selection, then everything would be fine, right?

Actually I was responding to Cindy's request, simply having memories of the same thing happening with "More:" in the menu-line dropdown.

In fact I do NOT see the same thing happening any more on my system EXCEPT if I wheel ON the drop-down in question. If I wheel ANYWHERE ELSE - even in the same frame - nothing (unexpected) happens, even though the drop-down still shows with focus.

This is IE 5.5 (5.50.4807.2300) SP2 with Q306121 and Q312461. As far as I can remember, the only system updates done since I did experience the problem are:
- continued updating of SECURITY fixes from Windows Update (Win98SE) site;
- replacement of the driver/software for the Matrox G450 Max dual-head by the latest MS sanctified version from the Matrox site. I mention this becuase it DID have at least one visible effect on my mouse settings. Suddenly my mouse was showing the trail as I moved it, where I had turned that OFF previously! To complete the picture, my mouse is IE Intellimouse Explorer (wheel and extra buttons).

So to answer your question. . . I believe so, but I cannot make the problem any more here.

Jim
