>To be consistent, I expect MSFT to start calling Windows XP as Windows 3.1. ;^)

I see this as comparing apples to oranges. Myself, many people here and on the Fox team (emphasis on the word Fox) have called it Fox, FoxPro, Visual FoxPro, and VFP. Often the team at MS is called either the Fox or the VFP team.

Often, VSS is simply referred to as Source Safe. Do people get upset over that? Should they get upset? Keep in mind that a certain HentzenWerke Book is entitled Essential SourceSafe. Shouldn't it be Essential Visual SourceSafe? I don't see anybody getting upset of that...

What's in a name???? If people were consistient and always used the Visual moniker, would the state of affairs be any different? I think not...

Any type of petroleum jelly is referred to as vasoline - which is a brand name. Any type of tissue is referred to Kleenex - yet another brand name.

In this case, the brand is FoxPro - which encompasses the entire spectrum. Within the brand, there was FoxPro Windows 2.x, FoxPro DOS 2.x, VFP 3,5,6,7. Collectively, it is all the FoxPro brand with different products within that brand.
