Mike,
There are many different options. Here are some:

1. native VFP
- IMPORT
- APPEND FROM

2. Excel automation

3. From Excel
- SaveAs DBF

4. ODBC

The easiest is probably SaveAs a DBF from Excel followed by APPEND FROM.
