Hi Jim. Thanks again for your response. The problem seems to be the way VFP converts integer values. When I use rowsourcetype=3-SQL, controlsource=Orders.custid, boundcolumn=2 and rowsource="Select name, custid from customers into cursor ccustomers" the value of the combo is in numeric format -2.1474E+9. The accual table value (orders.custid) is -2147483646. The displayvalue of the combo is "".

I guess the integer value is too large for vfp to correctly convert to numeric? Because -2.1474E+9 is not equal to -2147483646.
