Well, the ideas of Däniken are quite interesting... the ancient ones did some interesting feats. But he quite forgot to even consider alternative explanations. Like an ancient culture here on earth which may have had advanced knowledge that later got lost (which I consider the most likely explanation). Or divine intervention. Or "mental control". Probably there are other possible explanations, too.
