I find myself working for a company using IIS 5? under NT 4 with HTML search forms calling ASP pages that use ADO/ODBC against Foxpro DBF files (my primary area of expertise). This stuff was working up until Veteran's day, around which time we came under some heavy Ddos attacks which would crash our server.

To make a long story short, we called an NT consultant to fortify our system against the attacks, but now it is as if when using the ASP pages (which haven't changed) to search the database, IIS goes into never-never land and actually seems to stop doing anything at all, including serving up regular (non-asp) web pages. If we try to bring up the IIS control panel it never comes up. We have to do what windows introduced to the world: reboot the OS. It is the most bizarre behaior I have ever seen, and all I want to do is never look at this operating system again, but I am here on account of a job and the boss kinda wants the search pages to work. OK, the boss REALLY wants the search to work.

I'm at a loss.

NT has been reinstalled. IIS, reinstalled. The data source used by the ASP pages has been tested by installing Excel and successfully pulling records from that datasource. No error is returned by IIS; it just kind of "goes away." The ASP pages have been stripped ... ie no more fancy formatting in the HTML code, just pull down data element and output them. Doesn't work.

Any ideas, suggestions, anything?
