I have used the Acrobat reader OCX (pdf42.OCX) in a VB5 app. Placed on a form it allows me to
view documents in PDF format when the form is opened. This works fine on the development system
but when I do a set of install diskettes using the VB5 setup wizard and install on another
machine with a clean W95 original installation the pdf42.ocx file does not register and the
application subsequently bombs out when trying to access that OCX. I called Acrobat reader tech
support and they refused to help although you can distribute their OCX legally and freely in your
application and they encourage you to do so. They say if the whole reader can be installed
(which it can)then we won't help you with anything else. ( So why are you encouraging distribution
of the OCX also? - Anyway who said they had to be consistent in their policies ;-) )
I can use the reader by shelling to it, but It would be simpler for the user if the OCX would register consistently. He would only have to make one installation instead of two.

I've been looking at DLL versions until I got cross eyed ;-) they are all OK. The same dll`S on the target system as on the development system. So I'm now stuck.

Anyone seen this problem before and solved it?

Thanks.
