It used to be worse. A while back they were using some off-the-wall port (72??)and that really messed everyone up. Port 8080 is recognized as an HTTP port by the powers-that-be so it's not that unusual.
As for what Michel posted, they have been using port 8080 since they fixed the above problem so I'm not sure how temporary it is. Oh well.
