I would not necessarily assume this problem is related to the VFP7 install. You need to roll back to previous versions of the source code until you can pin down the problem. Keep compiling on VFP6 machine until you get a stable .exe, then compile that version of the project on the machine containing VFP7.

Do you have a W2K machine (with no VFP installation) at your office that reproduces the C5 errors?
