>I think you're right, but a word of warning, if I am allowed to be idealistic for a moment. If you're waiting for a .NET framework to come out and you're looking for somethign that looks like a typical VFP framework, you will see a them, but you'll be missing the action.

Evolving development tools come with evolving third party development tools, and I am envisioning higherarchies and diagrams that resemble (but is far simpler than) UML and other documenting syntaxes that can power applications.

What rationale are you using to base this conclusion - that frameworks will necessarily take the form of application generators?
>Code and Coders will still be required, but at a much more as needed basis.
I agree that code and coders will still be required. As far as being on a "much more as needed basis" - again I ask, what rationale are you using to support this premise. Before you can answer that, you will need to define the current state of affairs.

Of course everyone has always thought this would be the case sometime in the far future, but I think that VS.NET has the potential to do that successfully in the next two years.

How do you define "everyone"? And, where as "everyone" said this? FWIW, 2 years *is* the far future as far as the technical world is concerned..
