MSWinsock should have been installed with your VFP installation. If it wasn't and you downloaded some version from the Internet, most likely you didn't get the developer license registry key installed.

When you add a control to a form, the development environment (VFP/VB) checks to make sure you have a license to use the control in the manner you are trying to use it. This can take the form of a license file or in the form of a registry key.

Check your Winsock download again and see if there is .REG file included. This could be the registry key needed. You can double-click on it in Explorer and the information will be imported into the registry. If not, you may need to contact MS support to get a "legal" copy.
