You can get the free utility http://www.webshots.com/. They have a bunch of free photos which you can choose to add, but you can also drag your own photos into the application. It cycles your desktop image - but you can turn that off and just turn on the screen saver portion if you prefer. I'm using this on Win2KPro with no trouble.
