>Would anyone be interested in having a Visual Foxpro contest? Something fun that would help us bond more as a community.

At present, I don't think it is a good idea. There is presently the VFP Excellence Award Contest running and I don't want Microsoft to think we want to have our own contest just because we can't participate in their contest or that we don't agree with the way they are running it. By the end of May, yes, it might be a good idea. However, if some people prefer to start one shortly, please, do not use the Universal Thread for that.

I've been thinking about that as well for a month. As you know, by reading the VFP Excellence Awards threads of last month, you'll see that not all people were happy about that. But, by thinking about it more seriously, I found that it would be better not to have a contest of our own.

As for the current contest, the Universal Thread will not be represented. Even if Microsoft agreed to have someone from a legal region to represent a product from a non legal region, there is just no way I can have it to be represented. By having read the rules, there is a place which states that the participant need to have the ownership of the solution. I don't think a company will give the ownership of a solution to the participant just to have its product to be represented.

However, there is still something going on about this contest where I am still involved. I can't talk more about it at present but will have more detailed information shortly.
