>I am in the process of redesigning the entire application. However, since I am the only one and it is very large and complicated, I can only do portions at a time. Thus the problem is it may take me several more months to a year to finish redesigning the rest. I do not want to wait that long to upgrade to VFP 7. I am just worried that some of the older code may fail if VFP 7 is not fully backword compatible to DOS version 2.6.

Lee Roy,

Can you test VFP7 comfortably? You can have VFP6 and VFP7 on the same machine without problem.

My *guess* is that the biggest problem, compatibility-wise, will be that LOCAL statement memvars require separating commas. That's easy enough to fix.

You don't want to wait that long, so I would say Get VFP7 and try it out. If you find problems you can address them at a more leisurely pace, keeping VFP6 for your critical app.
There HAVE been several different threads here, most of them between August-Dec., about odd problems different people encountered. In most cases the fixup was straightforward. A few were not.

Don't forget, too, that SP1 is just around the corner. Since it will be available ONLY by download, buying now doesn't impact that.

good luck
