>well i'm printing bmp's on a couple of the reports and they are all pretty complex reports so i dont think going ascii will do the trick... i've seen Ed Rauh's DirectPrinterOutput class code and wasnt sure if this would help me with the driver code... can his class merge the prn's into a single prn with only one set of driver codes??? if so then yes definitely show me!!!!
DirectPrinterOutput just ignores drivers completely so it sounds like it's not appropriate to your problem.
I'll just mention another approach I have taken that has worked well for me. I have many (~10) workstations printing Word mailmerge letters. Rather than having to fire up Word on each of these WS, I store the necessary merge data into a table and have a single WS monitor that table and produce all of the letters.
Perhaps you could have one process gather the reports together before they get converted to PRN files and make a single PRN file which is sent to the Canon printer.
