To me, whether it is or not isn't necessarily the issue. It is likely true that blinking text is frowned on, if not actually stated as a non-standard, but when someone, in this case Elia, asks how to do it, that is the issue. I have had cases where I have used blinking text in the past. Would I normally use it for a client in a business app? No, but there are definately other places I might.

But, like you, I have heard this stated often in posts.
