In Win95, do a ctrl-alt-delete to bring up the list of tasks. Anything that looks recognizable, kill it. <g> The tasks that will bite you are in the one's in the systray, running in the background. The H-P printer/fax combo software is a real PITA that way, and will interfere with setup.
