>One of the real problems is not replenishing our wood suppply, but the fact that we are losing 'old growth' forests. That is a serious problem that still needs to be resolved. New growth and old growth are NOT the same.

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/fore09.shtmlI haven't had time to read these links in detail. However, the last one referred to the spotted owl. It is a fallacy that the spotted owl nests only in old growth forests. Also, the law that prohibits logging in spotted owl areas is bad too. Another case of environmentalists getting their way, when it just doesn't make sense.
