What happens if I send an updated exe to a client compiled with Service Pack1 applied, but do not update the runtime files on the client's machines? Will it not just work as before, (and the fixes are not applied, because they are applied in the runtime files)?

>>Along the line of delivering a new product to a client, I suggest they not only back up (you know how that goes with some clients – “What is a backup”?) but have a directory with sub directories for each version of an exe and required files with version number or date to identify it. If the latest version does not work for whatever reason they can go back to the previous version. Most of my clients agree with this and some do not. That is a business decision, but with my Aero Space background I do believe in “redundant systems”!
