I have a VFP app running and experiencing application freezing when multiple people are using SQL Transactions at the same time. The process seems to lock when the SQL COMMIT is issued. The transaction always completes and successfully updates the SQL tables. After I commit the transaction I requery the data to refresh the screen to get the latest data. This seems to be where the freezing occurs. I tried to query the same contract in SQL Analyzer that was frozen in the VFP app, and the Query Analyzer also just froze, not returning a recordset. However, SQL Server did not show any blocking problems at the time.

Yesterday, when a computer froze, the person went to lunch and when they returned, their machine said it completed the process. Never has the processes not completed successfully. It's just the user never gets back to the original screen they started with.

It appears like the COMMIT is taking a very long time to process when two or more people are processing transactions. If only one person is using the system, there are no problems. If two try and process transactions then freezing may occur.

Any ideas?
