I have seen this before. In my case we went to a backup tape.
I do think you can solve this but there is no guarantee. Obviously
the DBF capacities have been exceeded and the record count is in error.
Make sure you create a backup before attempting this!
What I would suggest is editing the DBF file and getting beyond the header info.
If you can clearly identify the begin and end point of a few records delete them and save the file. Now the file will be below the 2 GB limit but the header will still be corrupt (incorrect).
You will need to use a utility to reset the header info. If you do not have such a utility, let me know - I wrote one many years ago that will fix a corrupt header.
