The installation of SP1 went smoothly on my XP box, provided that I was logged in as an administrator. It still required that the installation CD be in my drive.
Post-upgrade the VFP About screen shows SP1 and version 7.00.0000.9465
( it was 7.00.0000.9262 prior to the upgrade )
On my Win2K box, I don't have administrative rights. Double clicking on the VFP70SP1.MSP file launches the Windows installer and displays a "Do you want to install Visual Foxpro 7.0 Service Pack 1?" dialog.
Clicking OK launches the EULA dialog and when I accept, the windows installer continues. My "A" drive gets accessed and then nothing happens.
I checked the Event Viewer in Computer Management, which shows an MSIInstaller error:
Description:
Product: Visual FoxPro 7.0 Professional - English -- Error 1706.No valid source could be found for product Visual FoxPro 7.0 Professional - English. The Windows installer cannot continue.
The Event viewer also shows an Information message:
Product: Visual FoxPro 7.0 Professional - English -- Configuration failed.
===
I suspect that Admin rights may solve the problem. If the developers who successfully installed SP1 can tell us if they were logged in as "users" or "admins" it might help to resolve.
