She may be exploiting a mess that a more compasionate corporate policy would never have engendered, but what she is saying is right.

I'm not sure she's right though. As you know, any liberal should automatically go against MS in any situation because of the liberal theory that wealth should be distributed. Especially a professional liberal politician. As a former investigator, the facts should be raising your eyebrows a bit.

1. Pcs for Kids broke Australian Copyright Law
2. The founder is now a fugative
3. Companies are donating old computers with the OS installed without transfering the license.
4. No media is supplied. If you clean the drive don't you need media to reinstall?
5. If you give a kid a computer with 3.1 what are they going to get that runs on it? Nobody writes for 3.1 anymore.
6. In 2002, how many companies out there are still using 3.1?
7. What were they doing with HP/3000s and AS/400s and why are they sending them to foreign counties?

I beleive MS to be charitable. It might be that MS doesn't want to be assist this charity because of the unlawful practices. Since MS does work with a sister charity here in the USA, I don't really see any reason to presume they are the bad guy here.

Someday, all the facts will come out and we can form our conclusions. Until then, innocent until proven guilty.

Wait, that's not fair. You had more turns than me so I get the last word. :)

I'm thinking about it. Have an old P60. Might turn it into a firewall or a browser for the kitchen to find recipies, etc. Mount a flat panel under a cabinet. Now that would be cool. Just need to find the time to mess with it.
