SET DIRECTORY is listed as supported Dbase IV command at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/foxhelp98/consupported_dbase_iv_commands_and_functions.asp and is the same as SET DEFAULT. I wouldn't recomend to use it because it's not in the help file and could confuse somebody trying to read your code in the future.

>One command that is etched in my xBase memory from dBase days is SET DIRECTORY. If I read correctly, that is not implemented in VFP. The command there (and in dBase/DOS) is SET DEFAULT. I used to use SET DEFAULT for selecting the drive, and SET DIRECTORY for moving around the directory tree.
