Hi All!

You are right. Only Intel Pentium III and above has serial number.

But, these CPUs have a very user-friendly feature: disabling the serial number availability. It is very usefull to avoid Orwell 1984'world!
If you turn of this feature (either by programatically or by BIOS), you cannot switch it back until you re-boot your PC! (i.e. turning off the CPU power, or hardware resetting it)
