>As some of you have heard, I’ve just joined Microsoft as the Lead PM/Evangelist for VB.NET. What this means is that I’ve been asked to help tie together the VB.NET dev group and the VB.NET developer community closely together. As part of this effort, I’ll also be working on designing the feature sets for the next few versions of VB.NET. It’s an awesome challenge, combining my love for community, cultural shifts and architecture.

To add to yag's announcement and to comment on how this relates to Visual FoxPro efforts at Microsoft. yag works in the VB.NET group which is just down the hallway from myself and others on the Fox team. yag will be communicating closely with myself, Randy Brown, Gene Goldhammer, and others on the Fox team as Microsoft works on features for upcoming version of VFP and VB. yag happens to be a very close personal friend of mine going back to when he was my boss working at his company Flash Creative Management.

Both yag and I are also working closely with an overall communities building effort within Microsoft. Everyone should consider yag an active member of the FoxPro community. For example, yag plans to attend the SeattleVFP.org user group meetings regularly and he will have more presence here online (especially in the .NET sections). Microsoft has an increasing effort around communities, as many heard from the Steve Ballmer video clip talking about VFP 7.0 about working together to build a bigger, better, and more successful FoxPro community. Communities , communities, communities, communities!
