>>People in China told me the VFP8 will be distributted in the next year >March. And I was told that many people use VFP + SQLSERVER MODE to develop >system. And VFP8 will join the .net platform. Is it true?

>I hope this, but I'm not sure that Microsoft will suceed do this. I Hope that next VFP will be NET. We already make something on VS.NET Beta2 and my programmers like it.
>In our standard presentation(I hope you can see it in UT part - Cosulting Companies )is written
>We develop database applications mainly with Visual FoxPro 6.0/7.0 - front-end & web and SQL Server 7.0/2000 back-end applications. Visual Bsic we use to create ActiveX controls, which are not available in VFP. Visual C++ we use to create drivers with printers, bar-code readers, scales, etc.
>We have developed Visual FoxPro technology - the same VFP6.0/7.0 front-end to work either with DBF's, free MSDE or with SQL Server7.0/2000 back-end.
>Decision which platform to choose depend on how big is the firm and it's bussiness
>for small and meduim firm with small quantity of issued documents - client-server apps with DBF's
>for firm with small staff, but with large quantity of documents - MSDE
>for large firms(banks) - 1 or more SQL servers(if more with data replication)
>We need of fast dataprocesing tools of VFP, but now all look at web based apps, that's why we need VFP.NET
