Is it possible that you have more than one database opened?
Have you tried CLOSE DATABASES ALL?

>In program I am unable to OPEN DATABASE EXCLU after having previously used database (and closed) database. My app utilizes Gendbc to clone a database which leads to this requirement.

I'm assuming that this is symptomatic of the same inability to OPEN EXCLU the database in question.

>CLOSE DATABASES seems not to close the database. Subsequent USE DATABASE name EXCLU opens the database allright... but as SHARED. You think you've openned it exclusive... but operations against it show its SHARED. Is this a glaring deficiency in VFP... or am I missing something?
