I use to test web application (Foxpro and asp pages)locally using localhost or ip address 127.0.0.1.

Now I get "cannot find page" using localhost and "connection refused" when I use 127.0.0.1. However, I static ip address can call the pages.

I can ping both local host and 127.0.0.1 and they respond correctly.

One error message said it might be a miss-configured local DNS server, but I haven't found anything yet to tell me how to reconfigure my local DNS server.

Anyone experience this before. How can I get my web server to recognize 'localhost' again.

I am using window xp professional.
