Using VFP5 in a multi-user environment, in some installations (more than others), the following situation occurs (about 1% to 2% of the time):
In a set of relational tables a new record is added to the parent and subsequent child tables. While accessing various forms and adding data at pointers to the various tables, all of a sudden (before the table is committed to disk) the pointer loses it's location (the master Id in table does not match it's corresponding variable in memory) and when I search (SEEK as well as LOCATE) for the new record, it is no where to be found!!. I have even issued
RECALL ALL just in case, and the record is still not there..
Has anybody ever seen this problem?. Could it be that the Index file is getting corrupted ? If so, how can one prevent it from happening?. It is kind of embarrasing!!.
