I understand that when updating records with TableUpdate(), VFP will compare the values before you started modifying, with values read from disk. Both values that you had before modifying, and the modified values, are stored in separate buffers.

I am not sure if this works with views - perhaps you can do some testing. You don't need a separate user - just a separate datasession (or a separate VFP instance). If things go as I assume, you will get an error message like "Update Conflict".
