Right, major companies tend to put alot more on the line than a little businesses. However, it is my opinion that digital solutions should not be limited to Fortune 100 companies. Most of the people I deal with, selling shirnk wrapped software or custom stuff, don't care what langauges their software is written in. They also don't want to know, or spend any time learning. If they get something that works, and can get a good return on their investment, thats all that matters, and they can stick to what they went in business to do.

I also don't think your "rules" for enterprise development will hold true forever. If you want to rest on your "valid generalizations", so be it.
