Martin, thanks for you response,
You are correct, it has to be done based on company's goals and requirements, and I need to clarify them with management, but then it's expected that I'd give them input and direction too.
I think I didn't tell you guys that the systems is composed of seven "modules", logic modules that is, everything is one exe but tasks are divided/specialized in those modules.
Yup, we'll need "no-installation-required", log in from you grandmother's computer clients, surely a web interfase is required too.
>If you'll need really thin "no-installation-required" clients, you should perhaps think about a web interfase, and then you could leverage your knowledge on Web Connection. That mixes well with some Win32 modules and can share those COM+ dll spinning on Component Services.
Great advice.

>Would you need to exchange logic with apps that you don't know how are written or what plattform are running on? Then WebServices would be a good choice. But if you don't foresee this need in the near future, then maybe it's not the best alternative, performance-wise.
Good to know about the not-so-good performance issue, additionally, most of clients hadn't swiched to the VB-SQL Server flagship product because they don't want to spend more money in new PCs, retraining users in newer OSes, needing (I guess) a DBA at hand.

>The other problem is how to start migrating that massive code. You said your idea is start putting all the procedures in one big class as methods and convert all the public variables in properties of an application object. I don't think that would be a good approach. That way you'll end up with the same beast under a slightly different skin.
No, I didn't say nothing about one big class, I said classes. And about the publics, that's the idea for those that are really needed and exclusively for a Windos GUI kind of thing. The methods must be independent of the properties in the app object (in a perfect world <g>).

...Y soy feliz, bien feliz, asi lo grito;
Mira, que el mundo sepa, que se sepa:
Soy feliz....
...And I'm happy, quite happy, so do I yell it;
Look, so the world knows it, so be known:
I'm happy...
