It all sound strange...
I offten use easy reference tables with two fields - KOD,NAME
and it works in reports perfect -).
But I don't use report wizard...

The important point is that we have to open databases before run report (I do it all time and I don't use database environment into report body...) I think in your case it can't find open table or you use wrong aliases before fields name.
