I was having the exact same problem. After reading Steve's reply, I was able to get the account number printing with the correct mask every time.

I coded it my select statement, too.

transform(bankacct.acctno, '@R ' + bankacct.acctmask) as acctno, ;

bankacct.acctmask is a field in the bankacct table and will contain the correct mask for this account number.

Thanks Steve. I knew there was a simple solution, I just couldn't seem to get the syntax right.
