Have you changed the base dbf layout, since you created the view?

designer (at this point note if VFP gives you any strange messages, if it
does, fix the view and save it) and re-adding the view to the form. If this
doesn't solve the problem, post agian and be more specific about when you
receive this message. HTH

that and even close VFP to reload everything. In view designer, I can run
the query without any problem.

the view is not the recordsource of the grid. It is a separate view that is
not attached to any object in the form. I use the view to get certain
results only. Originally, I had a requery in a Keypress event in a grid. I
had the error. Then I moved it to Load method of the form, I also got the
error. It didn't seem to have anything to do with where I put it.

getting all kinds of strange problems recently.
I have never experienced this problem, and not been able to solve it by
removing, closing opening, and adding the grid back in. Are you at any time
issuing any CURSORSETPROP() statements in the form? Does the view run in
other forms?
