Thanks for the reply. I haven't turned on Database Events so that's not an issue. Explorer shows the file in t:\inv as it should. I can open the file from the command window by issuing a "use t:\inv\invmaster" and all is well. If I include the extra backslash (as in "use t:\\inv\invmaster") I get a "file not found". I'm really stumped.
One more thing. If I use the Beta version of VFP7 I don't have this problem. Only when I installed the final version did things go south.
