I would give DataClas/VFP a good look before writing your own framework or purchasing another. Hundreds of hours have gone into DataClas/VFP and it works great for developing client/server applications.

We have some very large applications that use DataClas (including one that is now 500GB. Yes that was not a typo we have a 500 GB applictation at a bank.)

Also the price for DataClas/VFP cant be beat for what it does and the amount of work you would spend building something equivalent.
