Select Contact.* >where between(contact.dob, date(), date())Even with today's high tech data acquisition, I seriously doubt they'd have anybody who was born today in the table, simply because the technology of assigning names induces some delay in the paperwork. Paperwork is always an obstacle when you want to have the freshest data, but I assume they don't have computers immediately available in the maternity ward, hence my doubt.
